[the] R.ULES
Laws, as everyone knows, are a necessary part of every well-functioning city, and thus an integral part of human life. I cannot imagine the chaos that would be caused by a land without the laws to lay it straight. That is why I have organised the setting of these laws in this book. Hopefully, though it is too soon to be sure, these words will be well-heeded by the poor souls who come to this establishment, and none of the soon-to-be mentioned punishment will be inflicted. However, as such, even in the event of my passing, the guards, and my successor, will be well-informed as to all of these things. Besides which, I expect all my aides to be completely familiar with the words I shall print... No exceptions shall be made. So, with that said, it is my most earnest wish that you feel welcome and very much a member of our small community, no matter what occurs within or without these walls.
My blessings go with you. 'Lucky'

<:> Obedience: Please, show this to the Eyes, Ears, Claws, and any other staff on the site. Also, do not feel that this should be confined to these people; indeed, spread it around as much as possible. It is not compulsory, of course, but a little of it will go a long way. <:> Loyalty: Please, we need all of our loyal associates to be around as often as possible. I perfectly understand that sometimes life intrudes with our mission here in the FR HQ, but you should be around enough to render yourself useful to our purpose... I have been told that bi-weekly would be perfectly adequate. <:> Amity: The use of racist, sexist, prejudicial, or any other form of hurtful language is completely unacceptable when out of character. It will not be tolerated, no matter who you are referring to, and will be removed immediately. <:> Decency: Images featuring anything that would offend the eyes are not acceptable. Excessive blood, any nudity, or images that may be upsetting to some people are not to be allowed. Also, so that as many people as possible can access the site, please do not use any images that could cause a seizure or fit. Images with alternating, flashing colours, patterns, or 'strobe' effects will be immediately removed, as will some forms of optical illusions.
I claim to be no expert on the subject, so the information posted previously is how the appropriate and inappropriate images will be determined. You are welcome to link to such images, provided that you state that they are not within these guidelines. Credit goes to www.webaim.org/techniques/images/seizures.php <:> Literacy: Lolspeak, chatspeak, and textspeak are permitted OC. However, the use of this is only permitted for the entertainment of the readers. All normal discussions, games, etc, should be conducted in proper English, for the most part, and if at all possible.

<:> Education: Discussions are mostly serious things. Well, not always... But they certainly can be! So as to avoid spam, any posts in a discussion must be on-topic. Please, serious subjects should be conducted with decorum. The insulting of anything, anyone, is not acceptable. Period. Discussions are for the discussing, not for hurting, and so please be logical and keep these within the bindings of logic. Discussing the pros and cons are acceptable, but riling fellow members is not. Sexual or sexist, racist, anti-religious, or any specific anti-person/group/culture threads will be deleted immediately. I'm sure you are all sufficiently mature to understand the restrictions of any discussions you have on this site, PMs included. <:> All rules will be added to and/or edited: Checking back frequently, especially while this land is in its early stages, or after a brief lock-down, is highly recommended. These rules are mostly rather rough around the edges, so you may find a few crossed out, added in, or amended.

w.ithin [our] w.orld <:> Comradeship: No power-playing, god-moding, or unfair play. If you don't know any of these things, you've probably never role-played before. So I'll give you an example, then explain it and what is wrong with it. (Literacy and post length will be discussed later.) Power-playing:
It's very hard to power-play in a fight without also god-moding, so we'll take the first example first, funnily enough. Mark-Sue's role-player has controlled his opponent. Bad idea. Give your opponents a chance to retaliate, to react, to do anything, as long as it's the right person doing the moving. Otherwise the fight is incredibly one-sided. The second example is slightly less easier to pick up, but goes along the same principal. Although having your character power-played in fights is more offensive, I find it far more awkward and irritating when someone controls what they say or do, just normally. Because that is something that can be easily avoided, it is that much more annoying. Mary-Sue's role-player needs to learn this, so that Molly can respond as her role-player wants her to. After all, what if Molly's role-player had a fantastic idea that they could have followed, causing all kinds of interesting things to happen? Well, Mary has just thrown all that out the window.
God-moding:
I'm sorry, please excuse the tear-stains on the paper; just reading that makes me weep tears of anger, let alone writing it. Is it possible for a human to dodge a bullet? Maybe if he was super-lucky. But I doubt this was the case. Also, sending his opponent flying was power-playing, having him reach for the gun was power-playing, and the powers... I'm sorry. Powers do not, in this role-play, come so suddenly, so easily, and with such perfect control. 'Powers' are not, in the usual sense of the word, what we have at FR. 'Skills', yes. 'Abilities', yes. But powers? Powers are what people in abominably tight costumes and uncomfortable masks have when they head off to save their own reputation from petty criminals. We don't have any of this.
<:> Logic: By this, I simply mean that we require you to keep your characters and settings as much like our 'normal' world as possible. Of course, the felines are less likely to be able to conform to that 'norm', being part human and part cat. But personalities, backgrounds, and colours should all reflect what is real for the twenty first century. No pink, blue, green or purple fur, please. Other unnatural colours are equally forbidden. Sure, you can dye your fur, but it'll wash out after a while... And I imagine that the cost would get rather expensive, if you're furry from face to foot.
<:> Post Length: At FR, I like to think that we'll accept any post length, provided that it is acceptable in regards to grammar, spelling, and following the rules. So, unless your post is littered with enough errors to blind the eyes, I'll accept it, and the word minimum will stay off the site. Therefore, no comments like 'sorry for the short post!' are necesarry.
